This Privacy Policy explains how Cool Tech IQ ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our application and website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

We collect information you provide and information generated as you use the Service:

  • Account data: your name, email address, and password (stored securely, hashed), or profile details from Google if you sign in with Google.
  • Subscription & billing: plan tier and payment status. Card details are handled directly by our processors (Stripe, PayPal) — we do not store full card numbers.
  • Usage data: saved faults, diagnostic history, and messages or photos you send to the AI assistant.
  • Contact submissions: the name, email, and message you send us through the Contact form.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and sync your account across devices.
  • To process subscriptions and manage access to paid features.
  • To respond to your support requests and communicate service updates.
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.

3. AI & Third-Party Processing

To power the AI assistant and photo diagnosis, and voice transcription, the text, images, or audio you submit are sent to our AI providers (e.g., Anthropic and OpenAI) solely to generate a response. Do not submit confidential or personal information you would not want processed by a third-party AI service. Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal, and emails may be sent via our email provider. Each provider handles data under its own privacy terms.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, AI, payments, email), as required by law, or to protect our rights. Corporate plan owners can see which technicians are on their team.

5. Data Retention & Security

We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service or comply with legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Your Choices

You may update your account information, delete saved faults and history, or request account deletion by contacting us. You can disable microphone or camera access in your device/browser settings at any time.

7. Children

The Service is intended for professionals and is not directed to children under 16.

8. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
